An Introduction to BEYOND FASHION
Textiles are constantly in motion — between countries and continents, between production and consumption, between hands, markets and cultural contexts. As they move, they carry stories, knowledge, labour, materials and value with them.
BEYOND FASHION asks what becomes visible when we understand fashion not simply as a product, but as part of larger systems of circulation, exchange and transformation.
The introduction provides an entry point into fashion, its central questions, and the perspectives developed throughout the project. It creates a shared starting point for the workshops and revisits questions emerging from the symposium, opening them up for further exploration, discussion and collective work.
