Bridge&Tunnel

Bridge&Tunnel is an upcycling fashion studio and social business based in Hamburg. The studio works with discarded textiles and existing materials, transforming them through local production, craftsmanship, and collaborative making.

Their work brings together two forms of practice that are often kept apart: the transformation of materials and the creation of social value. Textile waste becomes a starting point for new objects, while knowledge, skills, and different forms of experience become part of the making process.

Working locally also changes the scale at which we think about fashion. Instead of focusing only on where materials come from or where products end up, Bridge&Tunnel’s practice looks closely at what can happen in between — through people, places, skills, and processes of making.

What becomes possible when we change the way we make?
